For an experiment, this took a shockingly long time. It was fun though. I haven't done ink drawing in ages. Definitely ought to do it more. The liquid ink pens in Corel Painter XI are pretty good.
However, the text tools in Corel Painter XI are shitty. SHITTY. This is why the text looks 'orrible, and took me ages.
Oh, my non-existant kingdom for a copy of Photoshop! Better start saving my pennies...
No, I have no idea if there'll actually be comic. Maybe. Probably. Maybe not.
If you have $64, you can get Photoshop. Get a Wacom Graphire tablet, download Photoshop Elements that comes with it, then sell the tablet to someone else.
Anyway, I like the attitude in this. The simple colors and her pose make me think of Rosie the Riveter a bit, actually. And though it seems like the text took you forever, I like it a lot. Will you be posting the comic?
Money? I got my photoshop for--Oooh, you mean a LEGIT copy. Hm, that'll be tough.

Smile. Enjoy what you do. Because the worst is yet to come.
If you base a movie off of a book, ensure you keep at least the most basic details in there--Harry Potter would have been VERY different if it had been talking squirrels instead of wizards.
Anyway, nifty lay out. Always enjoy the cut-out look like that.

Huh! That's an interesting plan! My other alternative for getting Photoshop is to do it via my husband's business. He's a DBA (computer clever-guy) for a big company, and they spend SO MUCH money on software and other things... y'know, commercial software that can run to thousands of dollars for like, one license for one person... that he thinks he can probably get Corel Painter X (and maybe Photoshop?) for little or no money.
So at some point I need to get him to ask for those things. :3
I will maybe be posting the comic, however, I am a tard and haven't fully written it yet. I wanted to play with a different technique for doing comics, because painting takes SO long, and because I want to stretch myself a bit and do something different. If I finish writing it, it'll be really really short. Like, maybe 25-50 pages max, possibly as few as 10. And probably very low on text.
But! I am notorious for planning to do projects and then never doing them, or just never finishing them! So I don't know if it'll happen! XD I am a bit rubbish at things like that. Needless to say, if I do make it, it'll go up here on deviantart! (Probably on drunkduck dot com too).
Yeah, my last copy was a bit... dodgy, let's say. But my university was giving out copies of all the major art programs - Photoshop, Illustrator, a bunch of others - because they knew we'd never be able to afford them. So I blame them! Corrupting me!
Anyway, that copy of the 'shop is long gone. I'll probably buy another through my husband's work, where we might be able to get it cheap. (I wanna get Corel Painter X too!)
Thanks! The cutout thing was a last-minute decision, but I think it looks alright! XD I blatantly stole the idea off some artwork I saw recently by someone else... I forget who or where, but it was a naked chick, and the cutout letters said 'you're not going to show this to anyone, are you?', which was cute. :3
Of course, the cutout thing's been done loads before, or I wouldn't have been so blase about nicking the idea. XD
You are awesome! I'm gonna refuse, though. I think I can get a cheap copy through my husband's work! And if I wanna try and make money with art (and I do), I can write it off as a business expensive.
I am ultra-paranoid. XD I apologise for ultra-paranoia. Sorry!
There might be more pages, but I wanna write the entire thing and do proper planning this time! Usually I just wing it, which has never worked in the past! XD
It's cool. Actually if you're gonna do any kind of professional work you need a legit copy, they have ways of finding out, apparently >.< I caved and bought a $299 version on a student discount...ouch! I think I can install it on up to 6 computers. But it's a mac copy, and I forgot if you have a mac or a PC. Question...which brushes do you use on Painter? I can't really seem to find one I'm comfortable with..
