Lore of Steel - Tsin Ma by pixieface Lore of Steel - Tsin Ma by pixieface
Tsin Ma - who is a long-dead Emperor, now a zombie. :3 He's an NPC (and foe), for the Lore of Steel premade gaming module, The Lost Heralds.

Lore of Steel is a tabletop roleplaying game that can be found online here: [link]

And on deviantart here: [link]

While I always appreciate thoughtful critique, I am not looking for critique on this piece as the Lore of Steel guys are happy with it, it is finished and paid for. Thank you! :)

Lol! Wish I could create pet zombies. I'd be rich! :D (But then all my customers would get et, and the end of the world would occur, and I'd be sued. So maybe not.)

Anyway, glad you like it! ;P

Love the decomposition of the clothes, flesh, bones, everything. As usual, brilliant work with his stuff. Really liking that shoulder armor. His face is horrific. Well done.

What was the experience of drawing him like? I love hearing about process! :D

It was interesting to paint! Initially I started out much like the other zombie, with a pretty detailed sketch with all the flesh still on... but realised early on in painting that he'd need to be much older than the other zombie, so more decomposed... so lots of skeletal references, and most of the sketch needed to be destroyed in a hurry, so in essence I was feeling my way with this one pretty heavily, making it up as I went along. :3

The colour picking was the hardest part - getting the texture and stuff how I wanted it was relatively easy, and fun. I do so enjoy decomposing textures, especially on buildings and stuff. And I enjoyed doing the backlit thing, too - that presented an interesting challenge! Briefly considered putting in a second light source, but I preferred how dark and ominous the backlit thing gave the monster.
