Been wanting to paint a ship for a while. This one is a brigantine - meaning she has two masts, square-rigged on the foremast and fore-and-aft rigged on the mainmast. (Brigantine refers to the way she's rigged, not her size or hull shape).

Anyway, this was just a personal project to try and get away from the whole avatar thing for a while. Getting a bit fed up of endless portraits. Eh.
Got bored before I could finish, too many things I didn't like about this one... but learned some stuff, particularly about painting ships, which will be useful next time I go to paint one.

It's one of my dreams to own a ship like this. Probably a brigantine rig also, since she has just the one square rig mast and thus will probably make more sense to me - I've sailed modern sloops before, but they are fundamentally easier to operate than a square rig, and can be run by fewer sailors.

Hmm. One day, when I am rich! I will get someone to build me a replica, and go sailing in the Med. It'll be bloody brilliant. :3

Oh, I would love to own a ship like this someday...! It's pretty much my life ambition. Okay, one of many, but still. One day, when I'm rich, I'll buy one and go hang out in the Med forever, being piratey. Hurrah!
