toast. good. by pixieface toast. good. by pixieface
toast = good.

I painted most of this ages ago and then promptly forgot about it. So I did a toaster and then uploaded it. Yes.

Don't judge me. ;P

I think maybe I'll note my reply, as it is longish and may be a little distracting placed here.

Haha, I love this.
It's so simple,
but cute too.
I'm not hott on
the shoulder smudge,
but your model is cute
and I like the simplicity
of her thoughts.

I've been looking at this and chuckling over it for a couple days now, wondering what to say about it. I'm still wondering. Oh well. I like it - tickles my funny bone.

(I have the same sort of response to Phil Hale - his stuff is puzzlingly ridiculous and marvelous/sublime all at once).

I love Phil Hale... *points to Phil Hale desktop* He's a little pretentious (once read a whole article with him speaking about 'the integrity of the line' and not believing in digital art because it's 'cheating') but just the most amazing artist. I love how surreal and yet realistic his work is, and how it always seems to have a story. :)

Glad you like the silly toast one! :D And you saw my thought pattern too... scary. XD Thank you for the comment!

Yeah, Hale's good enough that I can let his condescension towards digital just slide on by. I haven't met him, but I've met many of the "biggies" in the Sf/Fantasy/Horror illustration field - am friends with some of them - and Phil's attitude is not uncommon among them -though they do seem to be relaxing their "traditionalist elitism" in recent years.

Toast. Good. (all communications should end with those two words).

*grins* You've met them! Awesome. I'm now astonishingly jealous!

I kindof agree with the whole... elitist of the traditional line thing. Digital art has made it possible for a lot of (possibly otherwise) not very good artists to produce work that is perhaps above their standards, due to fun things like filters and layers and such. There's also something far more rewarding about producing something traditional, which you can actually keep physically around the place and takes up space.

But then, I find both ways of working rewarding and interesting for entirely different reasons. The only reason I'm spending so much time on digital at the moment is that I don't have the space to work traditionally in my little place!

So... now you need to tell me who you've met so I can turn entirely green from top to toe. :D

Toast. God.
(aha!)

*Toasting God* :D

My reply, extending to some unweildy length, is now being interupted by sleep. So I'll have to post it later this evening when I'm brighter of eye and bushier of tail.

Nighty nite. Taste God?
